It would be the first IIM to host a TEDx event. TED is owned by a not-for-profit foundation whose mission is simply to spread good ideas to the world. Much of the content ends up being offered free online. TED is also home of the famous TED Prize, which grants its winners a wish to change the world. TEDx IIM Kozhikode would also include a show by Euphoria Band.

IITKharagpur is an independently organized TED like conference by IIT Kharagpur operated under a license from TED. It is a one of a kind gathering of all the leading thinkers and innovators at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur who will come, share and inspire. TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Starting as a four-day conference in California in 1984, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. Their talks are then made available for all at TED. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx event.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. Like all TEDx events, TEDxIndianapolis is a self-organized, local platform to share big, TED-like ideas. Organized by Jim Walker with the incredible support of partners, sponsors, and volunteers, the annual event features live speakers, unique performances, TEDTalks videos, and activities. Combined, these experiences spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
